DINO MATES Premieres on KiKA: Europa-Park Series Starts Jan. 27, 2026

KiKA will present the exclusive television premiere of the animated series “DINO MATES – Holidays with Madame Freudenreich” starting Jan. 27, 2026. Two episodes of the first season will air daily at 7 p.m. The Mack Group's first animated TV series is based on the popular Europa-Park attraction “Madame Freudenreich Curiosities” and the successful books featuring the Alsatian grandmother Madame Freudenreich and her lovable dinosaurs.

The enchanting story follows 10-year-old Sophie and her older brother Leo as they spend their summer vacation with their adventurous grandmother Clara in Alsace. What begins as an ordinary vacation takes an unexpected turn when the siblings discover real dinosaur eggs in the legendary Dragon Cave. Suddenly, they find themselves in the midst of a thrilling mission filled with excitement and fun that forges an unbreakable bond with their new dino friends.

Aimed at children ages 6 and up, the series consists of 26 episodes, each 11 minutes long. Each episode transports young viewers into a fantastical world while celebrating the power of imagination, teamwork, and the courage to explore the unknown. It also conveys core values such as solidarity, collaborative problem-solving, and mutual support.

Since 2018, Madame Freudenreich and her lovable dinosaurs have delighted visitors to Germany’s largest theme park with the family attraction “Madame Freudenreich Curiosities.” Michael Mack—film producer, publisher, and CEO of Mack One—originated the idea for the accompanying picture book series “Dinosaurs in Grandma’s Garden,” published jointly by the subsidiary Mack Magic and Coppenrath Verlag. To date, more than 400,000 copies have been sold nationally and internationally, with translations into eight languages, including French, Danish, and Chinese.

“DINO MATES” was created as a co-production between Mack Magic, the Hamburg-based label Edel Kids, and the Erfurt-based broadcaster KiKA. Michael Mack produced the series and oversaw its development alongside his producer team, including Anne Tintinger and Tobias Mundinger. Dirk Hampel directed production at B-Water Animation Studios. David Ginnuttis and Oliver Huzly wrote the scripts, under KiKA’s editorial supervision. Worldwide distribution of the first season is handled by Studio 100 International.
