Europa-Park Hosts Missio Aachen Service for World Mission Sunday

In Europa-Park, a special service took place last weekend, organized by the church in Europa-Park in cooperation with Missio Aachen. Over 200 visitors gathered to celebrate World Mission Sunday under the motto “Signs of Hope.” The chaplains Andrea Ziegler and Thomas Schneeberger led the service together with Father Dirk Bingener, the president of Missio Aachen. The KISI-Kids from Austria provided a special atmosphere with their songs.

Special Service for World Mission Sunday

The service offered space for reflection on global challenges. Father Bingener emphasized the crucial work of members of religious orders in countries like Myanmar, where they provide direct help in crisis situations. Sister Felix reported impressively about her work with the poor and oppressed, especially women and girls living under difficult conditions.

Long-standing Partnership and Support

The long-standing partnership between the church in Europa-Park and Missio Aachen was emphasized. For many years, donations from baptisms and weddings have flowed into Missio projects that provide worldwide support. After the service, Missio Aachen invited attendees to a donor meeting, where Sister Felix provided further insights into her moving work and allowed participants to delve deeper into the projects.

Discovering Missio in the Park

Throughout Europa-Park, there were opportunities to get to know Missio Aachen better. In front of the Norwegian stave church in the Scandinavian-themed area, a large golden angel-wings installation invited visitors to take photos and quickly became a popular photo spot. Many guests also took the opportunity to talk with Missio Aachen staff and learn more about the diverse aid projects worldwide.
