Flower Planting Day: 180,000 Spring Flowers Bloom at Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort Season Opening

As the days grow longer and nature awakens, spring arrives at the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort – perfectly timed for the international “Plant a Flower Day” on March 12. Germany’s largest theme park transforms into a colorful sea of blossoms that delights fans not just visually but makes the entire park landscape even more magical.

Behind this impressive sight is the dedicated work of more than 80 permanent staff from the park’s own nursery. Year-round they care for the vast grounds with great experience and attention to detail. During the particularly busy weeks before the season opening, up to 120 additional specialists from garden and landscaping companies, maintenance firms and specialized tree care and restoration businesses support the team. Preserving the park’s tree stock – some of it decades old – is especially important.

For the new season launch the teams plant around 180,000 colorful spring flowers. The spring-like overall picture is enhanced by about 30,000 tulips that make beds, paths and meadows glow in vibrant colors. The Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort remains a blooming experience landscape throughout the season: A total of 250,000 summer flowers, 1,800 flower boxes and around 2,500 potted plants decorate the various European theme areas, each arranged to perfectly match its atmosphere.

Many of the plants spent the winter months in the park’s own greenhouses with different climate zones. Even more delicate specimens such as the lemon trees found optimal conditions there before returning to their places in the park this spring. For every visitor that means the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort is opening the season not only with new attractions but also with a fresh, blooming backdrop that makes every photo and every stroll even more beautiful.
