MACK Magic is set to celebrate a special achievement at this year's Frankfurt Book Fair, with more than one million books sold that bring the stories and characters from Europa-Park and the Rulantica water world to life in children's rooms. Founded by Michael Mack, publisher and CEO of MACK One, the company delivers the unique magic of these experiential worlds into fans' everyday lives through its publications.
Success Story and Tradition
The Mack family business has been sharing European cultural history with a broad audience at Europa-Park for 50 years. MACK Magic extends this concept beyond the borders of Germany's largest theme park. Committed to the European storytelling tradition exemplified by the Brothers Grimm or Charles Perrault, MACK Magic creates its own fantastical tales and delivers them to a wide readership at home through books.
Popular Book Series and Themes
With successful series such as the picture books about “Madame Freudenreich,” the adventures of “Snorri,” and the children's books about “Fina & the Yomis,” MACK Magic has secured a permanent spot on children's bookshelves. Novel series like “The Flying School of Adventurers” captivate young readers with themes of courage, friendship, and imagination. The “Rulantica” book series created a mystical Nordic fantasy world that gave its name to Europa-Park's water world and shaped its entire theming.
Traditional Expansion of Story Worlds
It has become a tradition for every attraction and themed area in Europa-Park to receive its own story world with an accompanying book. MACK Magic stays true to the park's successful formula and publishes print media for every age group, from mini-books to picture books, novels, and comics.
International Distribution and Translations
MACK Magic's books are available not only in Germany and France but also in countries such as Italy, Denmark, and China. They have already been translated into 12 languages, reaching an international audience.
New Release at the Book Fair
At the Frankfurt Book Fair, MACK Magic, in collaboration with Coppenrath Verlag from Münster, will present the new sixth volume in the picture book series about “Madame Freudenreich” titled “Dinosaurs Celebrate Christmas.”
Transition to TV Series
The path of the Alsatian grandma Freudenreich leads from picture book to ride at Europa-Park and on to her own series. In 2026, the new TV series “DINO MATES – Holidays with Madame Freudenreich” will premiere exclusively on KiKA starting January 27. The series brings her stories about dinosaurs to life and makes the beloved grandma accessible to millions of families on the TV screen.
Expansion Through Film and Media Products
A book and a Tonie have also been released to accompany MACK Magic's first feature film, “GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE,” which was released worldwide to mark Europa-Park's 50th anniversary. This highlights the strategy of developing unique entertainment worlds from Europa-Park under the MACK Magic brand and bringing their magic independently into children's rooms worldwide through diverse media products.
