State Secretary Rapp at Europa-Park: Cotton Candy and Beds

State Secretary for Economy, Labor, and Tourism Dr. Patrick Rapp MdL spent a day this week working at Europa-Park in Rust to learn about the operations of Germany's largest theme park. Through a behind-the-scenes look, he experienced how one of Baden-Württemberg's and Germany's most important tourism destinations functions. He scanned entrance tickets, helped prepare cotton candy, and made beds in the hotels. The visit highlights the park's significance as a tourism destination in Baden-Württemberg and Germany.

Behind the Scenes at the Ticket Counter

The entry into the park's daily routine started in the morning at the ticket counter, where Dr. Patrick Rapp scanned entrance tickets alongside staff members. This gave him an overview of the visitor diversity. Over six million guests from around the world visit the southern Baden town of Rust each year to enjoy an unforgettable day at the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort.

Safety at the Silver Star Roller Coaster

Safety takes top priority, as the state secretary learned at the Silver Star steel roller coaster. The employees explained to him the necessary checks that must be performed before each ride.

Work in Gastronomy

Afterward, he dove into the gastronomy area and assisted in preparing cotton candy. Around 160,000 pieces of it are sold annually in Germany's largest theme park.

Adventure Hotels and Hospitality

The park establishes itself as a short-trip destination through its six proprietary adventure hotels and Silver Lake City. Dr. Patrick Rapp highlighted the excellent hospitality and attention to detail there. In the new Western Houses, he supported the housekeeping team in making beds.

Enthusiasm for Employees and the Mack Family

After the behind-the-scenes glimpse, the state secretary expressed enthusiasm for the employees' dedication and the owner family Mack. Roland Mack is a true pioneer and visionary whose life's work has significantly shaped and continues to shape the leisure and tourism industry. With tireless effort, he has turned Europa-Park into one of the world's leading theme parks, thereby placing the Black Forest region, the vacation destination of Baden-Württemberg, and all of Germany on the map of the leisure industry. His courage to take new paths, his innovative strength, and his entrepreneurial spirit are exemplary and inspiring - and he has passed this courage on to his family.

Statement from Roland Mack

Roland Mack was very pleased that the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort is also perceived by State Secretary Dr. Patrick Rapp as a role model in the tourism industry and that he appreciates the constant commitment to quality and innovations. After all, Europa-Park, Rulantica, the six proprietary adventure hotels, and Silver Lake City contribute significantly to the region being seen worldwide as a tourism beacon. With the steadily growing offerings, they solidify their position as a popular short-trip destination.
