Toverland Completely Renovates Truukjes – Reopens as Morrel’s Truckjes

Toverland is delighting fans with a full-scale overhaul of one of its oldest children’s attractions: Truukjes in the Land van Toos closes on February 2 for major renovation and reopens for the summer season on March 28 as Morrel’s Truckjes – complete with a new theme, new vehicles, and a fresh look. The details already have fans buzzing with excitement.

Opened in 2001 alongside the rest of the Land van Toos and the park itself, the attraction was due for extensive technical maintenance. Instead of just the essentials, Toverland seized the opportunity for a complete transformation. The 55-meter track retains its original layout but receives new rails, a modern control system, and a fresh floor coating. The only element remaining from the current setup is the concrete base – everything else is brand new.

The highlight is undoubtedly the six entirely new vehicles. Custom-built in Italy and shipped to Sevenum, they come in three distinct designs (two of each) that strongly resemble rugged pickup trucks, giving them an extra cool and tough feel to drive. Toverland’s in-house Merk & Creatie team adds custom touches to make them fit perfectly into the Land van Toos. Adults can still ride along, while parents get perfect photo opportunities from the sidelines.

Along the route, young adventurers pass and drive through new themed scenes starring Morrel. They steer past a village pump where Morrel clumsily tried to catch a frog – with clearly visible results. A tea party goes hilariously wrong, the lavish table is plundered, and a sneaky culprit is hiding underneath. The kiosk features familiar details from elsewhere in the Land van Toos. In the final curve, riders go straight through Morrel’s charming little garage, and another scene with cheerful pennants, classic lighting, and garden elements evokes an English garden atmosphere. This makes it far more engaging to look around than just focus on the road.

It’s no surprise that the refreshed attraction will carry the name Morrel’s Truckjes, proudly displayed on a new sign at the entrance to the updated queue. The operator booth will also be fully themed to match. Morrel can’t wait to welcome guests into one of his brand-new rides when Toverland opens daily again on March 28.
