Rulantica: New Hotel with 350 Rooms and Four-Story Parking Deck Planned

Rulantica fans can celebrate – major infrastructure upgrades are coming to the popular water park. The Zweckverband Tourismus, Dienstleistungen, Freizeit Ringsheim/Rust will discuss the 5th amendment to the “Wasserpark” development plan in a public meeting on February 25, 2026. Two concrete projects are in focus: a new Europa-Park hotel and the multi-story Parking Deck P3 right at the water park.

The new hotel is planned on an area of approximately 1.37 hectares north of Rulantica and east of the existing Hotel Krønasår – bordering Ritterstraße to the south. The current valid development plan already permits hotel use with a maximum of 350 rooms. Since Hotel Krønasår currently offers around 315 rooms, the new building will add up to another 350 rooms. Only a minor expansion of the building envelope is required; the parameters for the degree of structural use remain unchanged. Compatibility with spatial planning goals has been confirmed in a dedicated expert report.

At the same time, Rulantica will receive Parking Deck P3 as a four-story structure (levels E0 to E3). Level 0 alone will provide 345 parking spaces on 9,200 m². A comprehensive noise impact assessment by dieBauingenieure from December 2025 (commissioned December 11, 2025) confirms that operation of the parking deck will comply with the emission quotas defined in the development plan. Main operations are limited to 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM; only departing traffic is considered during the night hour.

For all Rulantica visitors, this means noticeably more comfort in the long term: shorter walks to parking and even more high-quality overnight options directly at the Nordic water world. The decision on initiating the development plan amendment using the accelerated procedure under § 13a BauGB will be made on February 25, 2026.
