Efteling Mystique: Premium Dining Opens August 2025

Starting August 1, 2025, the Restaurant-Bar Mystique in the Efteling Grand Hotel will open, offering top-tier culinary experiences. Led by Chef Teun van Berlo, it promises a magical flavor formula to captivate both adults and children aged 9 and up across the Benelux region.

Unique Concept at Restaurant-Bar Mystique

The Restaurant-Bar Mystique stands out with its innovative concept where nothing is as it seems. Guests collaboratively create a flavor formula from 12 refined aromas, shaping the evening’s menu. Surprises like edible table decorations or a flaming appetizer make the experience unforgettable. The restaurant experiments with exciting flavor combinations and uses regional ingredients with a story. “Nothing is as it seems, so prepare for unexpected surprises at the table in taste, aroma, and presentation,” says Chef Teun van Berlo. As the only premium dining venue in the Benelux region catering to younger guests from age 9, it delivers a family-friendly culinary adventure.

Teun van Berlo, born in 1998 in Brabant, brings extensive experience from top restaurants like De Lindehof in Nuenen, Cuchara in Lommel, Somm in Uden, Sillyfox in Veghel, and Zarzo in Eindhoven. His career progressed from chef de partie to sous-chef, earning him the Young Chef Award Euro Toques 2022 and the Grand Concours Bollinger 2023. “My new workplace is a unique location: the stunning Efteling Grand Hotel in the heart of a world full of wonder,” van Berlo shares. From August 1, he will lead the Mystique team to enchant guests of all ages with magical culinary moments.

Dining with a View of Aquanura

Located on the first floor of the Efteling Grand Hotel, Mystique offers a breathtaking view of the spectacular Aquanura water show. Guests can dine indoors or on the terrace, enjoying the Island of the Five Senses. The restaurant opens daily at 5:00 PM, with entry until 8:30 PM, providing an approximately two-hour experience. The kitchen presents refined dishes with fish, meat, or vegetarian options, enriched by regional ingredients with a story. “We enchant our guests between courses, creating lasting memories,” van Berlo emphasizes.

Hotel Lounge Bar and Reservations

The atmospheric Hotel Lounge Bar at Mystique opens daily at 4:00 PM, inviting hotel and park guests to enjoy signature cocktails and top-quality bar snacks. It’s an ideal spot to reflect on an eventful Efteling day. Reservations for the restaurant are flexible: hotel guests can book during their stay or via the Efteling app, while park visitors can reserve online or spontaneously. Even without a park visit or hotel stay, an evening at Mystique is possible with a prior reservation through the website or Efteling app.

Efteling Grand Hotel as the Setting

The Efteling Grand Hotel, also opening on August 1, 2025, provides a magnificent setting for this culinary highlight. Spanning seven floors and 106 meters wide, the largest hotel in Efteling’s world offers 140 rooms and suites with 644 beds. Alongside Restaurant-Bar Mystique, it houses Brasserie 7, where guests can savor classics infused with seven magical ingredients. A pool with spa facilities, a coffee bar, and the Arcadeau souvenir shop are available to both hotel and park guests.
