Look past the coasters and hotel lobbies at the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort and you find something less flashy but just as defining: training that sets the bar statewide. In 2026, DEHOGA has again awarded the resort its “TOP Training Company” quality seal — and the apprentices themselves keep proving why.
The family-owned company has earned the coveted seal more than once for high training standards. Certification rests on verified compliance with the twelve guiding principles set by the German Hotel and Restaurant Association. At the core is a simple demand: hospitality and gastronomy apprentices must be involved and surveyed about the company’s measures. A positive take on their own apprenticeship is decisive for certification.
This year the results showed up on the scoreboard. At the Baden-Württemberg DEHOGA Youth Championships, Colin Drews took third place among restaurant and event catering specialists. The state’s largest hospitality youth competition matches final-exam standards; the jury brings together specialized teachers from the four state vocational schools for the hospitality industry and seasoned experts from Baden-Württemberg’s hotel and restaurant sector. Noah Unger, a hotel specialist at the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort, finished as top graduate among apprentices with an additional qualification in hotel and gastronomy management in his school block at the state vocational school for the hotel and restaurant trade in Villingen-Schwenningen. Paul Wehrle completed his event management apprenticeship as top student in his class at the Robert-Schumann-Schule Baden-Baden and has been hired permanently.
“We are once again delighted about the DEHOGA ‘TOP Training Company’ quality seal and are proud that the high standard of training at the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort is also reflected in the excellent performance of our apprentices,” says Frederik Mack, director of human resources at Europa-Park. More than 200 young people are currently in apprenticeships or dual study programs at the resort, most of them in hospitality and gastronomy. Together with DEHOGA, the family company is sending a clear nationwide signal: training quality matters in Germany — and fans get a quiet reminder that first-class talent development is part of the resort experience, too.
